Daily WTI, weekly retail diesel, monthly truckload PPI — an index, not a price. The spikes on the left are real weekly log-changes, one scale, so the damping is the picture. The bars on the right put a ten percent crude jump through the measured lag: 4.8 percent at the pump the same week, 6.7 percent after two weeks, 1.1 percent on the freight index a month later. The dashed ten percent is the wrong answer: immediate and whole. Inbound ingredients and outbound cases ride that last, smallest, latest number.
